GoGuardian Teacher — Overview & Setup Guide

GoGuardian Teacher is the classroom management tool used at Noble Schools to help teachers monitor and guide student Chromebook activity during class.

What GoGuardian Teacher Can Do

• Monitor live student screens — screenshots refresh every 3 seconds during an active session.
• Save snapshots of student screens for review.
• Open or close tabs on student Chromebooks remotely.
• Lock or unlock student screens to focus attention.
• Restrict students to specific websites using Scenes.
• Limit the number of open tabs a student can have.
• Receive off-task alerts for core subjects.
• Review student activity after a session ends.
• Record Lessons (saved for 90 days) — record screen-sharing presentations and share the recording with students via a link.

Session hours: Sessions can only run Monday–Friday, 7 AM – 8 PM. Monitoring is limited to school-owned devices — personal devices may appear in the list but cannot be viewed.

How to Access GoGuardian Teacher

1. Go to the Clever Portal.
2. Click Login with Google Account.
3. On the Clever Dashboard, click the GoGuardian tile.

Setting Up Your Classes

GoGuardian automatically syncs classes from Clever — you do not need to create them manually. Always use the auto-generated classes. Manually adding students may cause a "monitor-restricted" error.

If the wrong students are showing in a class (e.g., from a previous year), you need to archive the old class and accept the pending one:

1. Go to Classrooms → Active.
2. Click Settings on the class → Archive Class. Repeat for any incorrectly set up classes.
3. Go to Classrooms → Pending and accept the correct classes and periods.

To add a co-teacher: Go to the class → Settings → Add Co-Teachers.

New Feature — Teacher Override (Unblock Websites & Videos)

Teachers can now temporarily unblock websites or YouTube videos for the entire class directly in GoGuardian — no need to submit an IT request.

Unblocking a Website

1. When a site is blocked, you will see an "Unblock for Class" button.
2. Confirm the action — the site is unblocked for the entire class session.
3. Once the session ends, the site is automatically blocked again.

Two options are available when unblocking:

• Unblock Website — grants access to the full domain.
• Unblock Page — grants access only to the specific URL.

Unblocking YouTube Videos

1. If videos are blocked, you will see a notice showing how many videos are blocked.
2. Use the Actions drop-down → Unblock Videos → Confirm.

Note: If the override button is grayed out, the student policy does not allow an override. Hover over the button to see the reason. Overrides apply to the entire class — you cannot unblock for a single student. Scene rules remain in effect after an override.

Can I unblock for just one student?
No — overrides apply to the entire class.

Do Scene rules still apply after an override?
Yes, Scenes remain in effect.

Why is the Unblock button grayed out?
The student's policy does not allow an override. Hover over the button to see the specific reason.

Why doesn't the override work for all students?
Different student groups may have different filtering rules assigned.
