Access Instant Messenger (IM)

How to access and use the Noble Schools instant messaging system.

Access Instant Messenger (Microsoft Teams)

Noble Schools uses Microsoft Teams for instant messaging, video calls, and file sharing between staff. Teams is pre-installed on all school Windows computers.

Opening Teams on Your School Computer

  1. Click the Start button and type Teams, then press Enter.
  2. Or look for the Teams icon (purple icon) in your taskbar or system tray (bottom right).
  3. Teams will open and sign you in automatically using your school account.

If Teams is not installed, contact IT via a workorder and we will install it on your computer.

Sending a Message to a Colleague

  1. Click the Chat icon (speech bubble) on the left sidebar.
  2. Click the pencil/compose icon at the top to start a new chat.
  3. Type the person's name in the "To:" field and select them from the dropdown.
  4. Type your message and press Enter to send.

Access Teams from Any Device

  • Web browser: Go to teams.microsoft.com and sign in with your school account.
  • Phone or tablet: Download the Microsoft Teams app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with your nobleps.com account.

Teams Notifications Not Working

  1. Click your profile picture (top right) → SettingsNotifications.
  2. Make sure notifications are set to Banner and email or Banner for the types you want.
  3. Also check Windows notification settings: Start → Settings → System → Notifications and make sure Microsoft Teams is allowed.
